We have been working with BloombergNEF on Climatescope since 2021. In 2025 we were tasked with a complete update to the design of Climatescope that we originally developed for the 10 year anniversary of Climatescope in 2021 and that was used successfully for the 2022, 2023, and 2024 versions of the online report.
We started with a discovery phase where we discussed what was working and what was not. We also conducted a full site audit, including data analysis, UX and UI design, and site engineering to understand how we could improve performance and drive engagement. As a result we have overhauled the site, giving it a more interactive home page that highlights key findings across a curated selection of markets, an interactive Dorling map showcasing the most power-generating technologies by market over time, and the share of installed renewable energy capacity by region over time.
Climatescope is deeply data-driven. This also includes the text on the market profiles. These profiles are generated automatically from the datasets in order to give users the option to look at charts or read summaries of the data in text format.
92 Market profiles
Climatescope features energy transition data for 92 markets including implemented policies, electricity prices, installed capacity and electricity generation.

As the methodology has stabilized in the last four years, it has allowed us to standardize the data poweering Climatescope to compare ranks and scores across countries and see trends over time. This has been incorporated into the market profiles, and can be explored for all the markets in an interactive tool that ranks markets for the power sector over time.
Climatescope 2025 was published for COP30 in Belém, Brazil in November 2025.
